Social media is becoming the lead generation channels over the marketing technology professionals surveyed in May 2010, Unis fair marketing survey. Additionally, 66% of respondents said that the generation of lead has been his priority for 2010, with only 17% of the known classification and a 16% customer retention level with respect to it. The survey shows that retailers are starting to rely on social media as a regular source of new customers.

In another study, 51% of fans on Facebook and 67% of Twitter followers said they were more likely to buy brands such as Facebook or Twitter, strengthening the argument that social media is one of the most important emerging channel for lead generation.
